Amanda Darcy’s Story

 Amanda Darcy

About the Author

“What is there to know about author Amanda Darcy? Well, Amanda, a native of California’s Central Coast, is a chocolate-chip cookie-loving, Buffy the Vampire Slayer-watching, world-traveling homebody who turned her love of Jane Austen’s stories into a novel writing career.

Before her daydreams of telling Pride and Prejudice in a modern setting became a reality, Amanda wrote freelance feature stories for her local newspaper (under a different name) and taught Freshman Composition at her local community college (so you can be sure she at least knows what a gerund is, and that periods and commas are supposed to go inside the quotation marks).

Amanda and her husband lived a “workplace romance” before getting married: He was a teacher. She was the certificated tutor assigned to his class. He swore he’d never date a co-worker. She thought his shaved head was sexy. The students whispered.

Now they live in a wisteria-covered Victorian fixer-upper with their growing-too-fast daughter and their cats, Cupcake, Pickwick, and Pantalaimon.

Amanda’s debut novel is Of Love & Beer.

I am not at all in a humor for writing; I must write on till I am.
